"dissection of eve" quilt

“Dissection of Eve” quilt by Woodie Anderson

Woodie Anderson’s  mixed-media serigraphs and three-dimensional fiber works have been described as focused, smart and playful. Combining print-making, fiber-work  and graphic elements with found fabrics, collage and stitching, her work explores a colorful world of word balloons, elasticized body parts, embryonic faces and playful typography.

Thematically, Anderson’s works reflect the influence of 1970s feminist art. Her stylistic precedents include Andy Warhol, poet Kenneth Patchen and punk-rock poster graphics.

An artist and designer living and working in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, Woodie Anderson is also a member of the artist collective SEED and a participating artist in the Art-O-Mat.
