Cindy Taplin: "Can't Fence Me In"

Proud to announce that new SEED member Cindy Taplin will be on exhibit at Artworks May 2013. Stop by, meet Cindy and see her beautiful work at either of the two gallery hops this month in downtown Winston-Salem.

April 30-June 1

Meet the Artist at two Gallery Hops:
Friday May 3 and May 11, 7-10pm

Artworks Gallery presents a two-person exhibit of acrylic paintings by Cindy Taplin and photographs and video by Lea Lackey-Zachmann.

In her latest paintings, Taplin attempts to reconcile her love of geometric patterns and mechanical devices with her love of nature. She places chain link fences on earthy burnt sienna backgrounds, or sets a bird atop a fence as a reminder that no matter what barriers one constructs nature will find a way to claim it was here first. Cindy is a native of Forsyth County. She earned a B.A. in Mathematics at Salem College, where she also studied studio art. She paints full time in her studio in the Arts District of Winston-Salem.
